Susie Stott Art
Art has played a significant role in Susie’s life since her school days, influenced by her grandmother who was an artist.
Despite winning awards for her art in school, her focus shifted to academics during higher education. However, a pivotal moment occurred during the pandemic-induced furlough and her father’s passing, reigniting her passion for painting and drawing. This renewed interest led Susie to share her artwork online, resulting in successful sales. In 2025, she made a firm commitment to honing her artistic skills by joining a local art group. This journey symbolises Susie’s return to her creative roots, showcasing how true passions can resurface and thrive.
Based in a coastal town on the West Coast of Scotland, Susie operates under the name Susie Stott Art (social handle: @vitalgrooves), drawing inspiration from the “dynamic organic life expressions” found in nature. She sees her creative process as a continuous journey of discovery and growth predominantly focusing on capturing the vibrancy of nature, drawing inspiration from the sea, sunrises, nature, coastal scenery and landscapes.
Working mainly with acrylics, Susie enjoys experimenting with various scales, from larger canvases to intricate mini canvas pieces and unconventional surfaces like plywood and rocks. She also enjoys doing detailed ink and pencil studies. Her artworks use vivid colours and fluid detailed brushstrokes to convey subjects in a photo-realistic style.
Since launching her art page on Facebook in July 2025, Susie has created a platform where she showcases her latest creations. Her artwork is available for purchase, marking her transition from an emerging artist to a more established creative presence. Susie also undertakes commissions and enjoys the challenge of painting personalised scenes for clients.
